TRUVUE

Museum Glass®

is the best glazing option for all framed works of art.  Museum Glass is the highest quality anti-reflective picture framing glass available in the industry.  Tru Vue® has a proprietary manufacturing process, called Magnetron Sputtering, which produces an ultra protective, nearly invisible finish.  It protects against 99% of harmful indoor and outdoor UV light rays and has the highest light transmission along with the lowest reflection rating of any other glass product.  The result is consistent, durable quality and the most attractive display for artwork.

  • Reduces reflection by over 85% (to less than 1% of total light), the lowest possible reflection rating available with UV protection
  • Provides the highest brightness and contrast levels available
  • Optimal clarity for true color transmission
  • Greatest color neutrality
  • Protect works of art against 99% of harmful indoor and outdoor UV light rays

Conservation Clear®

Tru Vue uses a proprietary coating process of microscopic, silica-based UV blocking agents that are cured onto the surface of a glass substrate to produce an ultra protective lite of glass that enhances true colors and protects art from fading.  Over time, indoor and outdoor ultraviolet rays take a toll on artwork and cause fading.  Paper can become faded, discolored, and brittle, causing irreversible damage that ruins the artwork.  Conservation Clear framing glass with 99% UV protection helps protect art from fading by blocking harmful indoor and outdoor light rays, preserving art for years longer than regular glass.

Schott glass

MIROGARD® is the byword for a completely transparent

special glass with an anti-reflective coating on both surfaces.

With its unique quality SCHOTT MIROGARD® has a worldwide

reputation for guaranteeing the highest possible viewing

enjoyment of art. This high-grade special glass is manufactured

using the Sol-Gel process in the world’s most advanced dipcoating

plant. It is absolutely color-neutral and free from

irritating reflections. In other words: when viewed in the

normal way SCHOTT MIROGARD® glass is as good as invisible.

It’s no wonder, therefore, that the world’s leading museums

and galleries place their confidence in the proven quality of

SCHOTT MIROGARD®.

Virtually no reflections
Conventional glass reflects about 8 percent of
light. This results in an undesirable mirror effect.
With SCHOTT’s optical interference coated antireflective
glass the reflections are reduced to
about 1 percent and this means that they are
virtually eliminated.
Maximum transparency
Normal glass has a light transmission of only
91 percent. With SCHOTT MIROGARD® the figure
is 99 percent. In other words MIROGARD® is as
good as invisible. The result: The brilliance of
colors in works of art is reproduced without
losing any of their original quality.
UV radiation protection
All types of SCHOTT MIROGARD® glass reduce
UV radiation by absorption and/or reflection.
Depending on the level of protection required
various different versions of the product are

available.

The Glass & Mirror GM Art-Shield range of high performance plastics

A range of specially developed, high performance plastics for the framer, all GM Art-Shield products offer the benefits of:

  • Abrasion resistant surface coatings

  • Greatly reduced static build-up

  • Water-white and colourless

  • High quality 3mm acrylic substrate

  • Resistant to most acids, alkalines and solvents.

The range consists of:

GM Art-Shield Clear 3mm - both surfaces have abrasion and static resistant coatings, making it the toughest and lightest glazing material you can get.

GM Artshield UV 3mm - one side has the abrasion and static resistant coating, the other is standard acrylic. UV Artshield has a UV filter 'built-in' - not a coating. Under testing at the National Physical Laboratory, UV Artshield achieved the highest filtration figures we've ever had - filtering 100% (300-380nm) and over 99.5% (300-400nm).
